India has recently passed juvenile justice bill. In this country even criminal women are treated like kids, the punishment given to criminal women is normally lesser compared to men for same crime. In that context, I wonder whether crime by women juvenile will be punished at all. The reason being Indian mindset that is still refusing to believe that female juvenile can commit crime at all. Two men were accused by their 15-year-old niece of allegedly raping her. She essayed the story to the court that both the accused forcibly took her and tied her hands on a cot with rope and committed rape on her. Both men were immediately arrested and sentenced lifetime rigorous imprisonment.
The court later found that the medical report revealed no evidence of rape or any forceful sexual advance on her, there was no trace of semen found on her body or clothes and acquitted both the accused, by then both of them had already served 10-years and 7-years behind the bar.
