On being hit by a woman due to misunderstanding a gentleman should help her realize her mistake. If such misunderstandings are not clarified there is a chance that she would unknowingly repeat the incident with many more gentlemen. But once she is made aware about her incorrect presumptions she may not repeat it.
Below is a video showing how a gentleman kept calm in such a situation. He made the woman and the onlookers realize that preconceived notions may lead to unpleasant consequences and bitterness in relations.
I am not supporting any particular style of doing it. My point is such baseless bitterness is not good for the person or the society hence needs to be eradicated.
